As Patrick reminded guests, he set up IDS in 1997 in the bedroom of his London home, with a target market of several British embassies overseas, followed by embassies in the UK capital. 25 years on, today he directs an international network from a head office in Dubai, with affiliates in the wider Middle East, the UK, Europe and North America. Patrick also emphasised the work IDS does to support charities including Kids for Kids to enhance the lives of the children in Darfur, as well as Gentle Hands an orphanage in Manila, among others.  Patrick also spoke of IDS’s commitment to building a more sustainable future, an ethos that saw the company win a sustainability award in 2023.
