OMEGA INTELLIGENT SOLUTIONS

Diplomat magazine meets Funsho Obilade of Omega Intelligent Solutions to hear about their bespoke training progammes

Can you tell us about your work background?

My qualifications include: BSc, MSc, MBA, PRINCE2, MCMI and PhD.

I am a transformation and systems consultant with over 25 years’ experience across industries including transport, education, construction, finance, oil and gas, aviation, leisure and insurance.  I have lectured at the London Campus of Gloucester University on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

I am a member of the Chartered Management Institute and Association of MBA. I have also worked on major projects with organisations such as JP Morgan, British Airport Authorities, Warner Music and the Universities of Cardiff, Chester and Gloucester in the UK.

I also worked with the London Olympic Development Authority before London 2012 on several projects including business intelligence and change management issues.  All major stakeholders for the Olympics were involved in these sessions that addressed issues such as conflict resolution and scenario and strategic planning.

One of my greatest achievements was the project management and development of an Incident Management System at BAA airports (Heathrow, Gatwick and Aberdeen Airports).

My speciality covers strategic and operational management of the human resources function in an organisation, providing leadership to develop integrated human resources systems to help achieve corporate goals.

What does BAC accredited mean?

BAC is widely recognised as the most experienced, rigorous and independent accreditation service for the private education sector in the UK.

How do you manage to keep standards high and consistent?

All members of staff undergo minimum Continuing Professional Development every year. OISL is also monitored and assessed by BAC on an annual basis, to ensure standards are consistent and of the highest level.

Are there certain nationalities or areas of the world that OISL particularly caters to?

For example, can you tell us more about OISL’s oil and gas training programmes?

OISL has a range of experienced trainers with industry experience both in the upstream and downstream sectors. We also have experts in developing soft skills for both individuals and corporate bodies within this particular sector. With courses in Project Management Monitoring and Evaluation and New Business Development we are able to offer a wide range of quality industry specific programmes in this sector.

Why would you recommend teacher-training courses at OISL? Why do they stand out from others available elsewhere?

We have an expert team of fully qualified teachers with many years of classroom teaching experience and senior leadership and management within the primary and secondary schools’ sectors. In addition, we have amongst our team chief examiners, Principals and Vice Principals with experience of both private and state sectors.

Our team consists of subject specialists from the full academic spectrum and we bring all this talent, insight and experience to enrich the Teacher Training and CPD courses that we run. Our team is transformational in their approach and will help to train teachers in the latest methods, providing them with the skills to use up-to-date technologies in their classrooms to fully engage all students to ensure the highest levels of attainment.

Our team is passionate about transforming teaching and learning experiences for both teachers and pupils, whilst taking into account the cultural needs of the community in which we are working. Our aim is to provide the training and support required to help transform education systems to improve their international rankings.

How does OISL attract new clients and business?

Most of our clients find us through the BAC website and ‘word of mouth’ recommendations.

For companies, embassies and larger groups, do you have a certain amount of flexibility or can you create bespoke programmes specifically for the group?

Over 80 per cent of our programmes are bespoke. We ask companies and organisations to complete an extensive interview with one of our lead consultants where they detail their exact training needs. Based on these findings, we draw up an agreed bespoke training programme. We ask for a minimum of four delegates per course, and this helps us to ensure we provide value-for-money programmes.

Existing clients on their experiences of working with Omega Intelligent Solutions:

Tumba Terry (Overview of Offshore Systems)

“A practical course with live case studies. Our facilitator was simply engaging.”Christian Oky (Petroleum Project Management)
