London’s diplomatic community turned out in force at an event on 24 January at Canning House to support their colleague Ambassador of Honduras. Former FCO Minister of State for Latin America Hugo Swire MP said there was no one more deserving or suitable to receive the Canning Medal than Ambassador of Honduras and Dean of GRULA HE Ivan Romero Martinez. Praised for furthering relations between Latin America and the UK, the Ambassador said, “This is a true honour. I receive this recognition with pride.” Attendees celebrated at a reception with Honduran rum and empanadas.
