Diplomat was lucky to attend a Chinese New Year VIP Brunch at Bicester Village on 21 January. To celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Tiger, the Bicester team hosted the event with celebrity chef, Master Frank Feng who is known for being lead chef at various state banquets around the world. Diplomatic VIPs included Malaysian High Commissioner Zakri Jaafar, Indonesian Ambassador Dr Desra Percaya and Brunei High Commissioner First Admiral (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi, with their spouses, along with diplomats from various other missions based in London.
A specialist in food carving, guests admired Master Feng’s spectacular display of over 100 colourful birds, and even got to witness his work first-hand, transforming fruit and vegetables before their very eyes, while listening to music from live music from a well-known Malaysian singer. British Olympic athlete Joe Choong MBE was on hand to tell guests about his assent to winning gold at Tokyo 2020, and gave much credit to his Chinese and Malaysian heritage. UK government Minister of State for Farming, Fisheries and Food Victoria Prentis MP was on hand to support Bicester Village, based in her constituency.
