Diplomat stays at the Apartments by The Sloane Club
Established in 1976, The Sloane Club has been a great bastion of upper-class Britishness ever since. Found on Lower Sloane Street, the building’s distinctive Dutch-style red brick gables have given the club its trademark exterior appearance. Over the decades, the Sloane Club has been thought of as the home of the ‘traditional country set’ when they come up to town. But with so many hotel and members club openings, has the Club managed to keep up with the times?
Last year, the club launched the Apartments by The Sloane Club: 18 new, luxurious serviced apartments just round the corner – in fact, they’re even closer to Sloane Square than the club itself. Five different sizes of apartment are on offer: studios, classic one- and two-bedroom apartments, and for those needing extra space, large one- and two-bedroom apartments. Designed to the highest standards in a modern, art deco style, rooms come in a variety of colour schemes. Kitchens are modern, streamlined and fully equipped. The Internet-enabled smart television offers a whole host of information including instructions for everything in the apartment, plus menus for in-apartment dining and concierge services on offer (including ideas for your fridge to be filled with goodies for a ‘Girls Night In’ or ‘Boys Night In’) and further details on the local area. Each apartment includes bone china tableware, Nespresso machines and L’Occitane toiletries, making it easy to entertain, and bedrooms ensure an excellent night’s sleep with Siberian goose down duvets and pillows, Egyptian cotton linens, and all rooms are equipped with WiFi and air conditioning.
Services available to residents include access to a 24-hour concierge who can arrange car transfers, restaurant bookings and theatre tickets, and assist with any enquiries or itinerary planning. The Sloane Club chefs are available for private hire to prepare dinners in the Apartments themselves (with waiting staff as an additional option). The Apartments also has a partnership with the Norland Agency who can provide babysitting services, and a directory of local shops and salons that offer exclusive discounts to Apartment guests, including The White Company, LK Bennett, Smythson and Daylesford Organic.
The Sloane Club has just launched a new spa, which welcomes guests from the Apartments as well as being open to the public. Offering an extensive range of pampering treatments, the spa’s menu also includes BIOEFFECT facials and body treatments – exclusively designed for the Spa and providing instantly visible results. (It’s well worth a visit.)
Although rooms at The Sloane Club itself are for members only, the Apartments by The Sloane Club are available to non-members too. Within minutes walk of the Saatchi Gallery, The Royal Hospital, Royal Court Theatre, Peter Jones, Chelsea Physic Garden and Cadogan Hall, there really is no location quite like it. Providing all the services of an exclusive hotel but with the space and privacy of a luxury residence, just moments from Sloane Square, the Apartments are a rare treat behind your own central London front door.
